Often times when watching a horse race I catch myself thinking about if there was a higher power ruling over who wins. It all comes down to believing in a higher being or a Racing God. Some might not believe in the idea of the racing god. But I truly believe that there is. Anyone can purchase a horse and train it to be the best it can be, but with out the strength of the horse’s will power within, that horse isn’t going anywhere. That is where I believe the racing god comes into play. The racing god coaches the horse from within. Trainers and owners can only go so far. The old saying goes that you can take a horse to the water, but you can’t make it drink. Believing in the racing god might be something superstitious, but what harm can it do believing that there is a higher being watching over the jockey’s and horses while they are racing. Whether it be racing in the Kentucky Derby or a small claims race, the racing gods are with us all the time. So next time your at the track and a miracle happens, think about it again and see if it was really a miracle or if it was a sign from the racing gods. Remember god is watching you!
